What I Do

Writing

I write a daily diary on life as I experience it, and every month publish it on this website in day-by-day blogs.

Coaching

I help my clients to clarify their goals, identify the obstacles holding them back, make the most of their strengths while living life to its fullest.

Workshops

My Conversations with Women™ workshops help us to review and share what we have experienced and learnt, and gather support for moving forward.

Public speaking

My first public speech was as Duke Orsino in my school’s production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, at age twelve. Now I write my own speeches.

What I am discovering as I write is that aging produces a different kind of memory. A memory that makes up for all the mistakes, burnishes the rough edges a little and comes to peace with what we have done in the past and where we are today. Some horrors are etched forever but others softened and dealt with only in memory.

I learned from a brilliant therapist, in my late thirties, that all the distress and obstacles of today, once dealt with, will remain like distant bells. Sometimes when the wind blows and the bell sounds, it will stir a memory but not all the distress associated with it, that is the inner work of the soul.
